In November 2025, I curated The Distinctive Eye at Panter & Hall in Pall Mall — an exhibition bringing together over thirty works by some of the most accomplished contemporary British painters working today. The show was an opportunity to celebrate artists united by a single quality: a vision entirely and unmistakably their own.
Each painter gathered here has refined a visual language both individual and finely honed — not through fashion or alignment with movements, but through decades of looking, questioning, and refining. Together they offered a vivid and humane snapshot of British figurative and portrait painting at its most thoughtful.
"At a time when the world is saturated with an ever-expanding flood of visual imagery, it feels especially important to pause and celebrate what cannot be replicated. Each painting here is the product of a single, irreplaceable mind and hand."
