In Jewish mystical tradition, the Guf — the Treasury of Souls — is a celestial chamber where every soul waits before it is born into the world. When the last soul finally departs, the world ends. This painting draws from that image: white doves as souls in their gathering place, held between the unborn and the living. Birds have always moved through my work as carriers of meaning, and here they carry the oldest question of all — where do we come from, and where do we return? Only 5 of this edition remain.
